Let’s face it, table tennis is a nerdy sport.
With those high ball tosses and ridiculously dramatic movements, which allegedly impart all kinds of spin on the ball.
And what’s with the players rubbing their hands on the table all the time?
Is it some kind of compulsive disorder or is it a Zen philosophy whereby they hope to absorb some of the table’s "chi"?
Despite this, the sport has managed to earn the Chairman’s gold medal for most awesome shirt.
I saw the Chinese men play against Germany the other day and thought their red top with a golden dragon face on the front was pretty cool.
But the Chinese women’s top is awesome (black with the golden dragon).
Nice one Hu Jintao!
It was being modelled by Zhang Yining, the favourite for the women’s gold, who also showed why she is called the "poker-faced killer" when she didn’t even raise a smile after destroying Japan’s Fukuhara Ai.
Speaking of destroying, Australian water polo now has a sting in its tail after the women’s team flogged Hungary (in a penalty shootout) to claim the bronze medal.
