The worst Yum Cha I’ve ever had

The worst Yum Cha I’ve ever had

The Olympics is all about pushing yourself to your limits of endurance.

This morning I did just that Comrades.

Somehow I managed to sit through 20 minutes of Yum Cha without my head exploding from their inane chatter.

Firstly, this show is on every morning before the Olympic coverage begins and everybody knows you only have yum cha on Sundays.

Secondly, they have some great stories, like Mongolia’s first-ever gold medal and some swimmer who came last in his heat but wiped off 40 seconds from his personal best, but they skim over them so quickly the details are a little sketchy.

I blame Generation Y.

The show is hosted by one of the Daddo brothers and three other b-grade celebrities. Brain surgeons they certainly aren’t.

PS Tuvshinbayar Naidan was the Mongolian and he won gold in the 100kg judo division.

PPS Stany Kempompo Ngangola was the swimmer, in the 50m freestyle, and he cut his personal best from 1min14sec to 35.19sec.

PPPS Hang on, the Mongols have invaded China and are taking their gold! I’d best get back to the Great Wall. Looks like I’ve got work to do…

What the Mongols need to do Comrade is start breeding giant killer rabbits that can scale the Great Wall ... then abseil down the wall (they could enlist Tibet activists in this pursuit) and start their assault on Beijing ... sounds stupid? No more stupid than the Yum Cha presentation ... any chance Channel 7 could leave Sonia Kruger behind when they leave? She gets more irritating every day.

I cannot believe Seven thought this show would be worthy of airing and 'The Dream' not. Roy and HG have long been the true Golden Boys of the Olympics for Australia

A couple of Sundays ago my family visited a Ballarat restaurant for yum cha. Firstly the booking which I had made 4 days earlier was lost, we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. We had to take our own order to the waiter as he had difficulty seeing us seated in the middle of the restaurant. After waiting two hours for our yum cha, the sticky rice was still frozen in the middle. A complaint to the owner was completely brushed off, and we were given a free small fried rice for our troubles. As we all know nothing in this world is free, and there was definitely no tip left. Despite your sound warnings I sat through some of this diabolical show on Saturday. Yum Cha gets the brown medal for crappest show on TV.

In the first place, naming a show Yum Cha is stupid considering yum cha is a popular culture in Hong Kong and NOT Beijing!

What fool thought that the clowns on "Yum Cha" were a better dish to present to the viewing public. They are as hopeless as the show's presenters. Bring back the "Dream" not that nightmare!
