Fishnets and Flannelettes

Posted: 28/08/2008 | WHAT happens when you get a jumping castle, Batman and a guitar in the same frontyard? The coolest party ever. | CommentsComments (1)
Posted: 21/08/2008 | LAST week I went to my very first work conference. With my fancy red suitcase, I packed my heels and work clothes and jetted off to Sydney (or rather, Hawkesbury an hour west of Sydney), to join 24 Fairfax cadet journalists. | CommentsComments (6)
Posted: 8/08/2008 | I've copped a bit of flak since starting this blog. A few readers have commented that I'm simply a wannabe Carrie Bradshaw. Sure I'm jealous of her wardrobe and I did just splash out and buy the box set with all six seasons. But I'm six foot and hardly need to live in the sky high heels that she is so enamored with. However, it got me thinking about relationships. | CommentsComments (3)
Posted: 31/07/2008 | PEOPLE are often coming up to me with ideas for my blog. Recently I've been speaking to a number of new Ballarat residents who've moved to the chilly town from around Australia. Everyone that moves here notices the same thing. Whether you love them or hate them, the ads on television in Ballarat (and most rural towns) are the stuff of legend. | CommentsComments (8)

Posted: 18/07/2008 | I LIVE with three fantastic, talented, interesting, funny, beautiful girls. When I was first offered a position as a cadet at The Courier I was horrified that I'd have to move out of my McMansion in Melbourne into some creaky old house in Ballarat all by myself. One of my best friends from high school, Emily, was my salvation. | CommentsComments (4)
Posted: 10/07/2008 | THE hustle and bustle of the Melbourne CBD has always felt like home to me. The quiet lanes filled with boutiques, the busy streets packed with important-looking people walking fast, the sounds, the lights and even the smells. You learn pretty quickly all the life skills you need to get through. | CommentsComments (5)
Posted: 3/07/2008 | A FEW weeks ago, I went to a snow party. Not at a fancy chalet on a mountain somewhere. It wasn't even one of those tacky nightclubs with the snow machines and massive fans. | CommentsComments (4)
Posted: 26/06/2008 | PREGNANCY scares the hell out of me. It might sound naive and some people might think I'm too young to even be thinking about it yet, but the topic seems to keep popping up in daily conversations. | CommentsComments (10)
Posted: 18/06/2008 | IT has been five months since I moved from Melbourne to Ballarat to become a cadet reporter. Whenever I go home for the weekend, everyone always asks me what I miss the most. | CommentsComments (22)
