Defence is the best form of attack?

What a great day of attacking cricket!

Having spent the second day of the final Test in my hotel room thanks to a bout of Nagpur Belly, I was looking forward to watching the Aussie batsmen plunder the Indian attack.

But for the first hour all I saw was MS Dhoni set "attacking fields" by stacking the off-side, while instructing his pacemen to bowl 4m wide of off-stump.

Rivetting stuff!

The Aussies counter-attacked by throwing their wickets away, with Mike "Mr Cricket" Hussey winning the gong.

Is it just me or is Brad Haddin in serious doubt of getting a game when the team returns to our sunburnt country?

Not only has his keeping been awful (although Dhoni has done his best to make him look good), but he has managed to repeatedly get out when his team needs him the most.

But on a brighter note, Nagpur is clearly the winner of The Courier's Friendly Town Award.

Zach, from Shepparton, and I managed to hitch a lift back after the game with Vengksi and Rabi; free of charge!

A round of photos outside my hotel capped off a lovely drive, but a most boring day of cricket.

Oh, they have the best road-safety signs in Nagpur too!

"Safety on the roads means `safe tea at home'" is my personal favourite.

Hopefully Dhoni was concentrating on the tarmac and not the signs when he drove the team bus back to the hotel the other day after something happened to the driver...

Hey Polks, if you get a chance, ask Ponting if he is the worst Australian Captain. Ever.

Dave, I hear Prince Charles made it to Melbourne. Still the most exciting thing to happen on the Aussie tour of India..

Polky you had better save Ricky a seat on the plane home coz he doesn't seem to have too many friends at the moment.

Hey Sam, yes I have heard Chuck made it to his new home. I look forward to visiting him for a brew.

Joanne, Ricky had a nice comfortable seat in first class, so I'm sure he was able to cope...

Journey to the West
A long time ago Monkey followed a Buddhist priest, Tripitaka, from China to India in search of holy scriptures to save the world. Chairman Polky now heads to India in search of the same, and to watch a little cricket too...
