A bit of uplift sought for women in need by Ballarat project

08 Nov, 2011 10:31 PM
A CHARITABLE project to provide bras to disadvantaged women is seeking more donations.

Uplift Bras has sent more than 480,000 bras to women in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Tonga, Solomon Islands, the Philippines, Bali, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and the Northern Territory since 2005.

Intimo lingerie consultant Jenny Free became involved with the project a year ago

She is now Uplift Bras’ south-west Victoria co-ordinator and has organised for a donation box to be placed at Ballarat Body and Soul Fitness Gym.

“Women can donate their own good condition, second hand bras,” she said. “We’re especially looking for (size) 18 plus bras, but any donations are welcome.”
