A LITTLE bit of possum magic has come to Ballarat.
In the wake of the popular children's book Possum Magic, by Mem Fox, the Possum Magic musical is hitting stages around Australia.
The musical was performed last night in Ballarat to eager young audiences and will be on stage again today at Her Majesty's at 11am. During the show the audience had the chance to sing and dance to the Billabong Bounce.
The musical has been performed for 18 years, but this recent presentation celebrates the 25th anniversary of the book's publication.
The show features life-sized puppets that interact with the audience. Grandma Poss is played by Jacqui Hoy and Hush by Charmaine Gorman.
The show is finishing the Victorian leg of its tour soon and will then head to all states around Australia.
There are even future plans to take the show to Korea.
Producer of the musical, Garry Ginivan, says the show has been received well. "It's fantastic; it's been sold out almost everywhere," he said.
