A MAN accused of rape at Ballan was yesterday arrested in South Australia after he skipped bail earlier in the week.
Shepparton man Nicholas Goldsack, 22, was earlier this week charged with the alleged rape of two teenage girls at Ballan and Sunshine.
On Monday he failed to front court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Moorabool Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Brian Malloch said Goldsack was arrested in Mt Gambier.
Police became aware of his location after South Australian police arrested and charged him in connection to a petrol drive-off at Keith.
He was bailed, but a check by Ballarat Police found a match to fingerprints taken by the South Australian police officers.
"It was good work by the Ballarat fingerprinting expert who did the check," Det Sen Const Malloch said.
Goldsack was remanded in custody and will face the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Monday.
