A trio of alpacas have been brought into the park to protect its kangaroos and joeys from predators.
Animal keeper Dana Jansen said alpacas were often used by farmers to protect sheep.
“We’ve brought them in to do a similar thing to kangaroos. They keep the foxes away from the herd, which protects the joeys,” she said.

Ms Jansen said the alpacas, which roam free in the park with the roos, were introduced to the site as an experiment.
She said while their ability to protect sheep in a farm setting was well proven, the park keepers were unsure if it would work with the kangaroos.
“They’re doing fantastic and the kangaroos have accepted them really well,” Ms Jansen said.
