A MAZE of maize at Gordon is sure to provide a stiff test for the surest pathfinder.
Recently, Peter Donegan used a mower to carve out the puzzle in a field of maize at his Butter Factory Rd farm.
As a photo taken from a crop duster shows, the path through the green crop spells out the name of the farm's website - almost.
A couple of back-to-front letters were the price Mr Donegan paid for not having access to a GPS, but if anything it adds a degree of difficulty to the maze.
The two-hectare crop was planted in early December, to allow for the right soil temperature of about 19C.
A few weeks ago it was about 30cm tall. Now it is shoulder-height to an average adult male.
School and other groups have come to the farm for the past five years to experience country life, from milking cows to feeding chickens and digging potatoes.
Josie Donegan said it all started with a visit from son Flynn's kindergarten class.
"A few weeks later I got a call from the kindergarten teacher saying a friend of mine wants to know if she can bring a group out,"she said.
The maze had its first run two years ago and it proved to be a hit.
It will be open at the farm from this Sunday, and every Sunday until Easter, when the crop will be harvested for cattlefeed.
