The prep pupil featured in Saturday’s edition of The Courier, when her mother Jean English compiled a diary for the days leading up to her eldest child starting school.

The countdown to the big day was finally over yesterday.

When The Courier visited the school just after recess, Audrey said she had already made lots of friends.

But, the four-year-old was still trying to work out what her favourite piece of play equipment in the schoolyard was.

“I don’t know — it could be the slide or maybe the fireman’s pole,” she said.
