Ballarat barrister Graeme Jackson in court

26 Nov, 2009 02:34 PM
A BALLARAT barrister facing perjury and other dishonesty charges has appeared briefly in Ballarat Magistrates Court.

Graeme Jackson, 55, was arrested in June after a series of police raids on properties in Ballarat, Horsham and Melbourne.

Police seized documents, computers and other electronic devices during the simultaneous raids.

Prosecutor Peter Robinson this morning requested the case be adjourned to Melbourne Magistrates Court for a committal mention next month.

Jackson's lawyer did not oppose the application.

Reasons for the adjournment were not disclosed in court.

Jackson faces 13 offences, including one count of perjury, five counts of theft and seven counts of using a false document to prejudice others.

Magistrate Ian McGrane adjourned the case to December 17.

Jackson's bail was extended to this date.
