Adjudicators for the 2011 competitions are renowned interstate experts Lisa Fernance and Fleur Harlick.
Dr Tony Cole, chairman of the South Street dance discipline, said he was thrilled to take part in his 27th year of events.
“It is wonderful to see so many friendly familiar faces back again this year in the dancing section.
“But it is also delightful to welcome so many new competitors to Ballarat for the first time. It is always such a pleasure to see the dancers getting up on stage and enjoying their performances,” Dr Cole said.
“There will be many exciting performances over the coming weeks and we encourage people to come along and be entertained.”
The Royal South Street Energetiks dancing competitions continue at Her Majesty’s Theatre until October 8.
