BALLARAT Specialist School received a donation of five iPads, following the Commonwealth Bank’s centenary celebrations. “As part of the bank’s centenary they went out to all of its staff to get suggestions of how we could give back to the community,” Commonwealth Bank area manager Wayne Gould said.“One of those suggestions, which came out of South Australia, was to give to specialist schools.”Ballarat Specialist School principal John Burt said the donation would greatly assist students’ education.“Technology has revolutionised education and special education is being even further revolutionised by it,” he said.iPads were chosen for the donation as they would allow students to experience the latest and greatest in technology. “There’s a number of students here that will benefit strongly from the technology that’s in the iPads,” Mr Gould said. “Some of that technology is not always easy for schools to get hold of, this is basically our staff giving back to the community.”
