Ballarat woman in Qantas flight drama

02 Sep, 2010 05:05 PM
A BALLARAT woman had a lucky escape on a Qantas

jumbo after its engine exploded above the Pacific Ocean on Monday.

Renee Kenyon was among 212 passengers on board the 747-400 aircraft when its engine exploded.

The jumbo was about 150 kilometres into the flight from San Francisco to Sydney.

Ms Kenyon arrived in Sydney today after taking another flight out of the US.

More to come.

Lucky Escape from what? Engine broke - they have 3 others to fly on.... no-one was in any danger. The plane flew back to San Fran, no crash landing, no drama - well, except in the media looking for a story. Get a grip Courier....

Excuse me, "Calm Down". If you've got nothing nice to say why bother leaving a comment? Nice of you to leave a real name too. Bet you feel really tough. I'd like to see how you would react if you were in a jumbo over an ocean and an engine exploded.

Thats easy to say when you were not on the plane, I'm surprised people havent been blaming Libs or Labor for this accident.

reply to Calm down: Were you on the plane? If not u have no idea what happened. The paper is only reporting on what happened to a local person who was flying on that plane. That is what media is all about

Done a lot of flying have we "Calm Down"? You'd probably be the first hysterical one on board. Well done Qantas, I'd say. They have the best safety record in the industry.
