TWO iconic Hepburn Springs businesses will reopen within the next week.
Hepburn Pavilion Cafe will resume trading today, while the neighbouring Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa will welcome its first customers next Monday.
The building will be officially reopened this Thursday.
Both businesses have been leased and will be operated by Australian specialist management group Belgravia Leisure following two separate tender processes.
The historic bathhouse's $10 million facelift ended up taking almost twice as long as previously planned.
The business closed its doors in October 2006, with the redevelopment expected to take between 12 and 14 months.
While the facelift was carried out by Major Projects Victoria, Hepburn Shire Council handed the management of the land and the facility to the State Government.
Last month the council was reappointed as committee of management for the facility.
"The bathhouse is a world-class facility and we encourage all residents and visitors to the area to take the time to visit and find out about the many services that will be offered," said the council's acting chief executive officer Rod Conway.
Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa will employ approximately 50 full-time, part-time and casual staff members.
The 20-year lease for its operation and management will be formalised at a special council meeting tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, the cafe closed for renovations in October 2006 and was expected to reopen early this year.
"(It underwent) significant renovation with the installation of a commercial kitchen, servery, and new outdoor and indoor furniture," said Belgravia Leisure's Tania Jacobs.
