THE Jennings family were in surprisingly good spirits after waking up to find themselves trapped on their property on Saturday morning.
Simon, Mich and their son Daynme live on a large property on Springs Road, Brown Hill.
A night of heavy rain flooded nearby creeks, and a steady flow of water soon surrounded the property like a moat.
By 10am, the bridge from Springs Road to their driveway - the only way in and out - was under at least 60 centimetres of water making it impossible for them to leave.
Realising their predicament, Mich went out to the front paddock to rescue the horses and get them to higher ground.
They rang neighbours Zoe and Joel Looney to ask for supplies, most importantly milk, so they could have a cup of tea.
"We got up and Mich yelled out when she saw the water," Mr Jennings said.
"I've never seen anything like it. There's been water in the creek but never this high."
He joked that following the deluge he would consider putting the property on the market.
"The property value must have skyrocketed now it's got water frontage," he said.
