A MAN will face Ballarat Magistrates Court today charged with kidnapping his ex-fiancee from her Canadian Lakes home last night.
Rodney Guy, 29, is alleged to have forced the woman into his car at 11pm last night, leaving her four-year-old son home alone.
Guy is alleged to have driven the woman, 24, to an unknown location and assaulted her in the car.
The woman received two black eyes and a broken nose, as well as scratching and bruising to other parts of her body.
Detective Senior Constable Brett Robinson said Guy allegedly forced his way into his ex-fiancee's home and assaulted a man that he saw in a bedroom.
Guy then allegedly dragged the woman from the house by her dressing gown and forced her into his car.
Sen Const Robinson said after assaulting his ex-fiancee, Guy allegedly picked up some friends then dropped the woman off at her sister's house.
The ordeal lasted about 45 minutes.
Guy was arrested at his Canadian Lakes home and this morning charged with 14 offences, including kidnapping, intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon.
It is unknown whether Guy will apply for bail in court today.
More to come.
