POLICE were forced to destroy two horses last night after the animals were struck by a car on the Glenelg Highway near Smythes Creek.Two people travelling in the car were taken to the Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital but were released after being treated for minor lacerations.The collision occurred about 10.30pm and a female passenger was trapped in the car for about 20 minutes. The car was badly damaged in the collision. Senior Constable Selwyn Quaill said about 10 horses were found on the highway last night but it was not known who owned them or where they came from. Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Ballarat police station on 5336 6000.
