Power was also cut to thousands of customers across the region, with many still without electricity in the Ballarat and Daylesford areas.

A public meeting will be held at Creswick's Novotel Forest Resort at 3pm today for affected residents.

Representatives from Hepburn Shire Council, the State Emergency Service and Department of Human Services will attend the meeting.

Keep up the coverage The Courier. Seems the power outage has cuased serious problems with the TV and radio transmitter at Lookout Hill. Everything but WIN will be offline for an extended period while they try to fix it. Apparantly affects ABC TV and Radio, Ten, Prime etc for the western districts.

Thanks Matt. Had to do the ring around to find out if stations were down or if it was just me. No report on the news. Thankfully a lovely lady at Ch 10 told me what was going on.
