The girls have won a national competition to have their song, "Wait For Me" recorded in a studio with its own video clip.

The cousins won the Nick Rocks competition, which gave young singer/songwriters the opportunity to send in their own demo tape and video.

Jordyn, who plays guitar in their band She Hates Mondays, said the song was first penned for their grandmother's birthday.

"I saw it on Nickelodeon (channel) and the first time I laughed about it and thought nah I wouldn't enter that, but then I saw it again and asked Misha and she said yes and we just entered," she said.

"It wasn't too hard to do. Misha normally goes and writes songs when she feels like it and I just muck around with the guitar. I was just like it would be cool if we won, but I was just wanting to get our music out to somebody

who would listen to it."

The girls have already recorded the song professionally inside a Sydney recording studio.

The song is a tribute to their grandmother, who cried when it was played to her.

Misha said while the song was written for their grandmother it could relate to anybody.

"It was for other people in the same place," she said.

"Grandma wanted her own song . . . I made up the lyrics and we put it to together for the guitar and added things to it afterwards when the music and lyrics matched."

Their video clip will premiere on Nickelodeon on June 4, with the song to be played on local radio.
