Creswick truck depot to be discussed

16 Mar, 2010 12:01 AM
OPPONENTS of plans for a truck depot and wash at Creswick will hold a second meeting tomorrow night.

Organiser Rhonda Merritt said the meeting was aimed at informing residents of their plans to take the matter to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Hepburn Shire Council granted Prendergast Livestock a permit for an eight truck depot on the Anne St site last month.

Ms Merritt and her husband plan to build a childcare centre and kindergarten nearby.

She said the impact of the truck depot would be discussed at the meeting.

"The implications of what it will mean for Creswick with trucks going up and down our residential streets," she said.

Ms Merritt said an application against the plan had been lodged with VCAT, but a date for the hearing had not yet been set.

She said a Creswick Residents Group would be formed at the meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Creswick RSL at 7pm tomorrow.
