Production company December Media has confirmed that the first few shoots will take place during April 24-25 around Pax Hill Camp and April 26 at Lydiard Street North between Mair and Sturt streets.
Cast and crew of the 10-part series, set in 1950s Ballarat and starring Gold Logie award-winning actor Craig McLachlan, were welcomed to the city during a launch at Ballarat Town Hall yesterday.
McLachlan told The Courier he was excited to be involved.
“I’ve spent a lot of the last 15 to 20 years living overseas, coming back to Australia for special things that piqued my interest,” he said.
“This is the one I’ve been waiting for.”
All of the episodes will feature Ballarat circa 1959, with iconic Lydiard Street on display, particularly the Art Gallery of Ballarat, the Old Colonists Club and the Mining Exchange Gold Shop.
It revolves around Dr Lucien Blake, who returns home to Ballarat to take over his late father’s medical practice.
