Driver with serious injuries after crash

A MALE driver sus

tained serious injuries

after his sedan ca

reered into a tree at

Cardigan late last

night.

The single-vehicle

accident came as crews

were still clearing the

scene of a smash near

Burrumbeet, on the

Western Hwy, after a

semi-trailer rolled

shortly before 5.30pm.

Ballarat TMU Senior

Constable Brad Fisher

said the semi-trailer,

transporting frozen

goods, was travelling

west when it rolled.

The 51-year-old

truck driver, of Clear

View, South Australia,

received minor injur

ies and was conveyed

to Ballarat Health Ser

vices Base Hospital.

Sen Const Fisher

said police were wish

ing to speak to the

driver of a dark green

Mitsubishi station

wagon, who may be

able to help police with

their investigation.

In the second acci

dent, a Ford sedan

travelling west along

Remembrance Dve ca

reered into a tree

shortly before 10.30pm.

The driver received

serious injuries and

was also transported to

Ballarat Health Ser

vices Base Hospital.

Meanwhile, police

are calling for any

witnesses to a hit run

accident in Delacombe

last night to come for

ward.

said a blue vehicle col

lided with a parked red

Ford Falcon in Chalon

Court at about 8.50pm.

The car received

minor damage.
