FORMER television identity Gavan Francis Disney allegedly coaxed a teenage colleague into taking his clothes off before sexually assaulting him in a dressing room, a court heard yesterday.
The County Court in Ballarat heard Disney told former BTV 6 night show host Frederick Fargher that he was sexually attracted to the 17-year-old and wanted to "get in his pants".
Mr Fargher told the court Disney had asked him to join him and the complainant in a dressing room at the Ballarat television station for drinks.
He said Disney had told him "I want to get into (the complainant's) pants tonight and I want you to be there so it doesn't look suspicious".
Mr Fargher told the court Disney "mildly encouraged" the complainant to keep drinking and repeatedly asked him to take his pants off, which he did.
Disney then fondled the complainant using shaving cream before the teenager vomited on the carpet, he said.
Mr Fargher described the atmosphere as "quite tense" and said he left the room after the alleged incident.
The court heard Mr Fargher had also been charged with sexual offences relating to the complainant which were later dropped.
Defence counsel Terry Forrest put to Mr Fargher under cross examination that he was lying to avoid the charges.
Mr Fargher denied the claim saying "I am not making it up as God is my witness."
Disney, 60, who was a co-creator of Hey Hey It's Saturday, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape and 13 counts of indecent assault.
He is alleged to have committed the offences while employed in an executive position at BTV 6, now WIN Television, during the early 1980s.
The trial, before Judge Paul Lacava, continues today.
