Golf event proves a great fundraiser

25 Feb, 2005 11:07 PM
THE inaugural Ballarat Health Services' Murray to Moyne Trainee Pro-Am was held at Ballarat Golf Club yesterday.

Eighteen of Victoria's top trainee golf professionals were among golfers who teed-up to raise money for the new Ballarat Base Hospital dialysis unit.

The day was a huge success, with $30,000 being raised.

The hospital's fundraising program will culminate in the Murray to Moyne cycle relay in April.

A team of 24 Ballarat Health Services' riders will make the 520km trip from Mildura to Port Fairy in 24 hours.

The riders aim to raise $50,000 to equip at least one patient dialysis station in the dialysis unit.
