A 40-YEAR-OLD Greendale man faces jail after he was allegedly caught drink-driving on Sunday night, with his unrestrained son in the front seat.

Bacchus Marsh police Acting Senior Sergeant Dennis Boyer said police saw the man leaving the Greendale Hotel shortly before 10pm.

It is alleged the man placed his18-month old son in the front of a Nissan Patrol ute, before police stopped him in the Greendale-Myrniong Rd for a breath-test.

It is alleged the man's blood alcohol reading was 0.07.

He is also a suspended driver.

Acting Snr Sgt Boyer said the maximum penalty for driving while suspended was a jail term, depending on the person's driving history.

The man will be charged on summons with drink driving, driving while suspended and driving with an unrestrained child in the vehicle.
