Little lost Peter in dog attack

Little lost Peter in dog attack

06 Nov, 2009 12:48 AM
A SCHOOLGIRL rescued this very friendly bunny from being mauled by dogs in Sebastopol on Thursday afternoon.

And while the grey/tawny rabbit was lucky to escape with only a sore leg he remains lost.

Ballarat Petcare Clinic in Victoria St is searching for his owners.

Veterinarian Barb Henderson said the rabbit was being fed by the clinic and also given painkillers.

But she said he would need an X-ray to determine the exact condition of his leg.

"He's somebody's pet," she said. "Somebody is probably missing him."

The bunny who has ben temporarily named Peter was more than happy to receive lots of cuddles from vet nurse Melissa Zabinskas at the clinic yesterday.

"He's very friendly and used to being handled," she said.

The bunny was found in Wall St, Sebastopol, and is believed to be a dwarf rabbit or a dwarf cross.

The Ballarat Petcare Clinic can be contacted on 5333 3434.
