Man charged after police pursuit

Police have charged a 34-year-old South Australian man following a pursuit at Ballarat last night.

Police will allege the man avoided stopping at a booze bus site in Curtis Street by reversing and running a red light in Grenville Street around 10 o'clock.

A short pursuit was initiated and police soon blocked the vehicle in a car park near Dana Street.

The driver was charged with evade police, possess drug of dependence and other traffic related offences and his vehicle was impounded.

He was bailed to appear in the Ballarat Magistrate's Court in early May.
