THIS year's Mount Clear College Autumn Festival promises to be a feast of fun, food, music and mirth.
Assistant principal and festival organiser, Alan Archbold says this year's festival, on March 19, promises to be a big success.
"Every student at the school is part of a pastoral care group called a links group, and each group will run an activity," Mr Archbold said. There are 1150 students and 70 links groups, and many outside store holders are booked to participate, so the festival is shaping up to be huge.
"We anticipate the festival will attract a large crowd in excess of 5000 people, in line with previous years," Mr Archbold said.
Stallholders booked to come include the Body Shop, Mary Kay, Enjo, soy candles, Flynn's Plant nursery plus many craft and food stall.
There will be performances from the Ballarat College of Music and Art, dance and percussion workshops, dance performances, music performances and the popular Festival of the Bands.
Soccer, basketball and football will all be represented in sport clinics.
But the unanimous favourite of the festival, according to the students, are the rides, which this year will include dodgems, the Hurricane and Chair-O-Plane.
With the whole school and many in the community involved in the festival Mr Archbold said it was the perfect project to bring the two together.
"We aim to create meaningful links to our community and give students the chance to engage with community, local businesses and organisations," he said.
The Mount Clear College festival will be held on March 19 from 2.30pm to 8pm on the college grounds.
