ONLY two offences were detected in a weekend crackdown on recreational fishermen.Department of Primary Industries fisheries officers targeted Lake Purrumbete, Curdies River, Lake Elingamite, Daylesford's Jubilee Lake, Newlyn Reservoir, Tullaroop Reservoir and Cairn Curran.Fisheries officer Stephen Eddy said the majority of anglers followed the rules to ensure the long-term sustainability of recreational fishing."Apart from a few anglers who were found fishing without a current recreational fishing licence there were no other offences detected," Mr Eddy said."It is important anglers realise that all the money collected from their fishing licence fees goes into projects that will directly improve recreational fishing in Victoria."Anyone who spots illegal fishing activity can report it by calling 133 474.
