ICE Maidens Michele Bloomcamp, left, and Sandra Floate show St Patrick's College students Jarryd Allan and Peter Colbourne equipment from their Antarctic exhibition.
The Melbourne mothers were part of a team of four women who travelled to the South Pole in October 2003 to trek more than 1000km across Antarctica.
The pair spoke to a group of Year 8 St Patrick's College students yesterday about their adventure in the world's most inhospitable environment.
The presentation was part of a student learning unit entitled Change.
It enabled the students to learn from inspirational female role models about the sacrifices and changes in attitude they were required to make in order to embark on their Antarctic expedition.
