Police search for stolen motorbike

04 Jan, 2010 10:37 AM
POLICE are searching for a motorbike stolen from Delacombe overnight.

Sergeant Dave Collins said thieves accessed the garage of a property on Lanita St, where two

motorbikes were stored.

``Two motorbikes were stolen, however one was recovered in James Dve,'' he said.

``The thieves have gone into the garage, possibly through an unlocked door or they've forced their

way in. They've then wheeled them out (and) started them up the road.''

Police were called about 6.05am today when one of the bikes was found dumped on the side of the road in

James Dve.

After a registration search, police identified the owners and notified them of the theft.

The owners of the bikes had no idea they had even been robbed.

The stolen motorbike is a red 1997 Suzuki trail bike, worth about $6000.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Ballarat Police on 5336 6000.
