John Brumby seems to frequent Ballarat often on a Friday. Guess it is an "early mark" on his way home for a longish weekend!

Good to see John Brumby and Geoff Howard had plenty of time to pose for the cameras and spruik the benfits of government spending today in Ballarat. Pity they didn't have 30 minutes spare in their schedule to drop past the Police Station to see for themselves first hand how staffing levels and the police numbers were going. No time either to call past the emergency department of the hospital to see how stretched the doctors and nursing staff are. Not to worry - just keep your head in the sand Geoff and let the voters do the rest later this year!

TJF - they did make hospital announcements, quite substantial ones, on top of the $33 million recently invested in Ballarat Health services. Before your negative silly attack, stop to think. Don't you think new jobs in manufacturing in Ballarat are worthwile and welcome? Anything to grow the manufacturing base in Ballarat in the wake of the GFC is vital and welcome.

It is a shame Mr Brumby could not find some "grant" money to give to the BEST organisation to keep their cafe open and 15 people in employment rather than having to apply for CentreLink payments.
