BALLARAT newcomers can now claim a rebate on land purchases as part of the city's My Choice Package.
The $2500 rebate is available to new residents who buy land at Macarthur Park estate, after Property developer Roadcon Group joined the initiative.
The incentives package offers more than $16,500 worth of free and discounted goods and services to new Ballarat residents through partnerships with about 90 local businesses.
The Roadcon offer coincides with next week's launch of stage four of the Macarthur Park estate - a 377 lot subdivision 3.5km north-west of Wendouree.
Roadcon group sales marketing officer Dion Collard said the rebate provided a fantastic headstart for newcomers to Ballarat.
"We see the benefits in the growth of Ballarat, so attracting people to the area is fairly important for business in general," Mr Collard said.
"We're offering that $2500 to people who actually live in the house so it's not like investors can come in and take advantage of that offer. We're really happy to be part of such a terrific initiative."
Business Ballarat executive director David Keenan said more than 2500 new residents kits had been distributed as part of the Ballarat My Choice Package since its inception about four years ago.
"From the City of Ballarat's point of view it is fantastic to see companies like Roadcon coming on board," Mr Keenan said.
"At the moment we estimate somewhere over 600 kits have been taken out this financial year.
"We are having a very successful quarterly function to greet new residents here and now that Roadcon are a part of this group ... it's really good news and we hope that other organisations will come on board." Mr Keenan said
the Ballarat My Choice Package was highly regarded outside the city.
