Search on in Cohuna

17/05/2008 1:14:00 AM
A SIGHTING of a missing Redbank man in Cohuna failed to lead police to his whereabouts yesterday.

The search for John Grant, 47, at St Arnaud National Park and family farm properties was called off after he was seen 90 minutes away in Cohuna near the Murray River.

Avoca Police Sergeant Wendy Lambert believed Mr Grant was on the move and police in the Cohuna area were keeping an eye out for him.

She said police were concerned for his welfare because of personal issues.

"We have concerns for his safety. We need him to make contact with his family,'' Sgt Lambert said.

Mr Grant's family reported him missing to police at noon on Thursday.

He was last seen at his home at 1pm on Wednesday and has not made contact with family since.

Police believe Mr Grant is driving his burgundy 1992 Holden sedan with registration plates EWB 989.

He was last seen wearing a shirt and cap and is described as having balding brown hair, brown eyes, fair complexion with a medium build.

Anyone with information on Mr Grant's whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
