North Ballarat's Steve Clifton has tied for the VFL's best and fairest award.
Clifton shared the JJ Liston Trophy with Shane Valenti from Port Melbourne tonight.
Each polled 20 votes in a count at Etihad Stadium.
Clifton, who plays as a power midfielder and is a two-time premiership player, received two votes in the last home and away round against Geelong to draw level with Valenti.
Clifton is a product of Lake Wendouree in the Ballarat Football League and graduated to the Roosters via the North Ballarat Rebels.
He is North Ballarat's third Liston Trophy winner, following Julian Field in 2004 and Myles Sewell last year.
Sewell presented Clifton and Valenti with their medals.
Originally from Sandringham, Valenti is in his first season with Port Melbourne after being delisted by Melbourne.
Other leading votegetters: Ed Curnow (Box Hill Hawks) 13, David Swallow (Gold Coast) 12, Michael Stockdale (Casey Scorpions) 11, Marcus Marigliani (Bendigo Bombers) 11, Matthew Little (Williamstown) 11.
Curnow led by two votes after 12 rounds, but did not play again because of a broken leg.
Stockdale was another major contender struck down with injury mid-season.
Other leading votegetters for North Ballarat: Corey Jones 10, Cam Richardson 6, Dan Feery 6.
In a big night for the Roosters, Gerard FitzGerald was named VFL coach of the year for a fourth time and players Myles Sewell (ruck rover), Orren Stephenson (ruck), Steve Clifton (half forward flank) and Cam Richardson (half back flank) selected in the VFL team of the year.
As well as leading North Ballarat into second place at the end of the home and away season, FitzGerald also coached Victoria to a 55-point victory over Western Australia in Perth.
The Roosters' Tyler George finished equal second in the reserves best and fairest, the Todd Medal.
He polled 17 votes, the same as Andrew McGuinness from Box Hill Hawks.
Matthew Cravino, of Williamstown, was the tearaway winner on 26 votes.
North Ballarat captain Shaune Moloney was presented with his VFL life membership.
Moloney was one of six recipients of life memberships.
He qualified for the award when he played his 175th senior VFL game this season.
Moloney is the first North Ballarat player to be reach the milestone and be honoured with life membership.
MEANWHILE, Box Hill Hawks have been handed a home ground advantage against North Ballarat in Sunday's VFL preliminary final.
VFL today transferred this weekend's two preliminary finals to Box Hill after the heavy Port Melbourne ground was deemed unfit.
The Selkirk Roosters lobbied for the preliminary final to be relocated to a neutral Craigieburn - a venue in its first year of use.
Saturday's preliminary final at Box Hill is between Williamstown and Northern Bullants.
The VFL grand final will played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, September 19.
