V/Line services resume following tragic train death

BALLARAT line trains have returned to normal services this afternoon, following an incident on the line at 1.15pm.

A V/Line spokesperson said 75 passengers on the 12:56pm train from Wendouree to Southern Cross were transferred to coaches following an incident, believed to be a suicide.

Police and emergency service personnel were in attendance near the line at Strickland Parade, Brown Hill.

The 4.04pm service from Southern Cross is expected to be the first train to Ballarat on time.

BALLARA T line trains have been delayed this afternoon following an incident on the line at 1.15pm.

A V/Line spokesperson said passengers on the 12:56pm train from Wendouree were transferred to coaches following an incident, believed to be a suicide.

Police and emergency service personnel were in attendance near the line at Strickland Parade, Brown Hill.

The spokesperson said delays were expected to continue until after 4pm but would not impact peak services.

The first train expected to travel as normal will be the 4.04pm service from Southern Cross.
