NORTH Balllarat Roosters suffered a shock 13-point loss at the handy of a lowly-ranked Werribee Tigers on Saturday.

Werribee sat 13th on the Victorian Football League ladder heading into the clash with three wins, one draw, 10 losses.

The Roosters' top two spot is now in danger.

The Roosters trailed early while a rampant Tigers outfit held the lead at each break at Chirnside Park.

Forward Corey Jones was best on ground for the Roosters with three goals while Myles Sewell and Cam Richardson continued their solid form this season.

NORTH Ballarat Rebels slipped behind Gippsland Power in an intense battle at Eureka Stadium on Saturday.

The Rebels trailed by one goal at three quarter time before Power booted four goals to one for a 27 point victory.

Power forward Dean McDonald kicked six goals while Rebels Jarryd Hill and Jeremy Cameron were the only multiple goal kickers for the home team with two apiece.

Keenan George, Nick O'Brien and versatile tall Ben Mabon were best for the Rebels.

BA LLARAT Lady Miners have emphatically kept their season - and retiring coach Kym Cassells career - alive with an 18-point win against Kilsyth on Saturday night.

The match was the Lady Miners' last season home game at the Minerdome.

They clawed back from a seven-point deficit at quarter time to sit one down at the main break before piling on 22-9 points in the third term.

Lady Miner Rachel Jarry was in stellar form with 27 points, 18 rebounds.

Amy Lewis (14 points) and Karen Ashby (12 points, five rebounds) offered strong support.

MEN

BALLARAT Miners have fallen 14 points short in their last game of the season against North West Tasmania in Ulverstone on Saturday night.

The Miners had been seeking a rare Tasmanian double after upsetting championship contender Hobart by seven points on Friday night.

They finished their campaign in a high scoring affair, 118-104.

Tariq Naqqash (25 points), Jamal Brown (24 points) and Ryan Barnes (18 points) led the Miners charge.

They could not match Thunder's dominance with Michael Martin top-scoring on 32 points, supported by Jeff Dowdell 28 and Shawntes Gary 25.

SOCCER

Ballarat Red Devils claimed their biggest scalp of the Football Federation Victoria state league two season with a 1-0 win over fourth-placed Brunswick City today.

The win was the Haymes Red Devils' fourth from five matches under new coach Michael Leslie, who took over from Dale Harris early this month.
