Yandoit shooting: police hunt gunman

POLICE have renewed calls for information about the shooting of a man at Yandoit, near Daylesford, in October.

The man, 58, was shot in the leg at his High St home

on October 31.

Police believe the man, who lives alone, was woken by the sound of a car horn in his driveway about dawn.

When he went to investigate the noise he was shot at close range whilst standing near his driveway.

Police said the man sustained a serious leg injury and fell unconscious.

He phoned paramedics when he regained consciousness shortly after 8am.

The man was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a life-threatening condition and has since undergone several surgeries for his injury.

Armed Crime Taskforce detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting and will return to the crime scene today.
