Wendouree man made threats to doctor, court told

28/08/2008 12:01:00 AM
A WENDOUREE man stalked his doctor and threatened to kill him, a court heard yesterday.

David John Scholes, 29, was a patient of the Sebastopol Medical Clinic when the offending took place between March 17 and May 15 this year, the Ballarat Magistrates Court heard.

Police Prosecutor Senior Constable Steven Kent said Scholes had threatened to break the doctor's neck and smash his skull in telephone calls.

The court heard Scholes was on parole at the time of the offending having been released from jail in February.

Defence lawyer Mike Wardell said Scholes had been waiting for paperwork to be completed for surgery for a medical condition.

Mr Wardell said Scholes had been diagnosed with aspergers syndrome.

Magistrate Kay Robertson said her main concern was that Scholes had some long-term supervision. She adjourned the matter part heard until next Wednesday for the completion of a psychiatric report.
