CENTRAL Highlands Cricket Region under-16 girls missed out on reaching the state championship grand final yesterday.
The under-16s performed well in the carnival, winning all three round robin matches and then a quarter-final over Gippsland Lightning.
However, the Highlanders fell just short in the semi-final.
Central Highlands made 5-86 and it only took Pride 17 overs to win by eight wickets.
The Highlanders’ under-14s also began the week well with two wins, but could not keep it going.
