Cycling: Shaw sits second in Tour of Gippsland

BALLARAT’S Patrick Shaw is second after the opening two stages of the Tour of Gippsland.

He is seven seconds behind Ben Grenda from Tasmania

Shaw, who won the Tour of Toowoomba last month, was second in the first stage at Wonthaggi on Wednesday and then third in stage two later in the day.

The Tour of Gippsland is the first event in the Scody Cup.

Stage three on Thursday starts and finishes in Warragul, with 130km featuring some hard climbs.
