Missing three players out of their strongest line-up, the Devils cruised to a 50-26 victory over the Panthers on Saturday.
Bronwyn Coffey missed the match with an ankle injury, while skipper Christine O'Hanlon and Bree Rizzatto were unavailable.
Darley coach Marika Barnes said the players promoted to fill the breach performed admirably
"Tarni Lopes came up from the under-18.5 as keeper and did a great job, and Talei Bari made a strong return in midcourt after a year off.
"We started off strong. The whole (starting) seven played well."
Melton South trailed by 15 goals at half-time but then had its best quarter in the third, scoring nine times to the Devils' 10.
However Darley dominated the final quarter with 12 goals to four.
Elyce Carlyle scored 29 goals, with Sarah Thompson providing good support with 21 goals.
For the Panthers, Danielle Robertson finished with 12 goals, Lisa Summers 11, and Katarina Butigan three.
