NORTH Ballarat dual premiership player and reigning VFL best and fairest Myles Sewell is playing down his chances of being selected in tonight's AFL national draft.
He is considered the Roosters' best hope of having a player picked up.
Sewell had a standout season - capped off by the VFL best and fairest award - to put himself in the mix to join his brother and Hawthorn premiership player Brad in AFL ranks.
North Melbourne has shown interest and Sewell has also been linked with Richmond.
Sewell said he doubted whether there had been enough interest.
"I'm not much of a chance," the ever-modest Sewell said.
In the meantime, the match-winner is stepping up his pre-season training with North Ballarat.
Sewell knows that if his AFL dream eludes him through the national and rookie drafts, the possibility of a third consecutive flag with the Roosters is an exciting prospect.
North Ballarat ruckman Orren Stephenson and first-year player Cam Richardson are others who have caught the eye of AFL clubs.
Richardson attended state screening as part of the draft process, while Stephenson has been touted as a possible pick-up for St Kilda as a mature rookie when those selections are made next month.
Stephenson has stamped himself as the VFL's number-one ruckman over the past three seasons.
Like Sewell, Stephenson was named in the VFL team of the year.
