TRISH Fox had no intention of allowing her husband Nathan get one up on her this professional running season.
Nathan Fox took out the open 70 metres handicap at St Albans on January 30.
So at her next opportunity - Sandringham on Sunday - Trish came out and won the women's/veterans' 300 metres.
She had a good day all around, also finishing fourth in the women's/veterans' 100m.
This is only her second win on the professional running circuit, having taken the honours in a 120m final at Keilor two years ago.
Fox had been building up to the victory all season, in which she has displayed the most consistent form of her career.
Going to Sandringham, she had reached a final at each of her six Victorian appearances in 2009-10.
She finished second in a 120m and 400m at Peninsula and a series of thirds at Terang (300m), Rye (120m), Ringwood (100m) and St Albans (120m).
Fox, running off 44m, set up her win at Sandringham by taking out the eighth and last heat of the women's/veterans' 300m.
She ran the fastest time of 36.4 seconds and then clocked 36.67 in the final.
