BALLARAT top order batsmen Bobby Hind and Allen Steenholdt have had ideal warm-ups to Melbourne Country Week.
Hind made 118 and Steenholdt smacked 65 against Bendigo at Wendouree Reserve on Sunday.
They put on 146 for the second wicket as Ballarat put together 6-243.
Although the annual challenge was washed out just five overs into Bendigo’s innings with the visitors 0-15, it provided valuable time in the middle for the two key Ballarat batsmen ahead of country week, which begins next Monday.
Hind’s century came off 155 balls with nine fours and four sixes.
Steenholdt’s knock was brought up in a brisk 85 balls with eight boundaries.
Their partnership ended inside the last 10 overs of the 50-over clash, leaving those others to get a chance at the crease no choice but to throw the bat.
