UP to three of Redan's premier players are expected to return for the club's sudden-death final against Sunbury on Saturday.
Redan skipper Nathan Blomeley rated the likelihood of Matthew Pitt, Jake Bridges and Matthew Hyden returning to the western Lions' line-up at ''80 to 90 per cent'', at the MECU Ballarat Football League media conference yesterday at Saxon House.
Sunbury captain Allan O'Connor was less optimistic about the availability of ruckman Simon Clarke, rating the versatile big man at ''less than 50 per cent''.
Blomeley said there were no new injuries out of City Oval following the Linlec Electrical Lions' hard-fought elimination final victory over Darley.
''Only the guys who didn't play last week might be under an injury cloud,'' Blomeley said.
''Up until now it has been a standard week. We had a recovery session on Monday, and a short and sharp session on Tuesday. It's more about sharpening up.
''I think it will be a tight game. The side with the will to go the distance will be the winner.''
After being the dominant side of the home-and-away season, Sunbury is faced with the prospect of a straight-sets departure from the finals if it cannot overcome Redan at Clarke Oval on Saturday.
O'Connor said the eastern Lions had learnt from their defeat, and that losing a second double chance might not be an enormous disadvantage.
''Keeping it in perspective, if you look at who has won the grand final, very few teams that have gone straight through have won them,'' O'Connor said.
''It's a minor setback and we've got another chance.
''We weren't switched on (against Lake Wendouree). Obviously we had a slow start and that is not acceptable in finals.
''This week, hopefully we can lock down if Redan makes a break from the blocks.''
