DAYLESFORD has secured a must-win victory over ladder leader Central Wendouree Red in the last home-and-away match of the Ballarat District Bowls Division Mid-Week pennant.
The top four division one sides to play finals will be announced today when the mid-week ladder is released.
Ranked fourth last week, Daylesford yesterday took two rinks and defeated Red 77 shots to 63 at home, in their last chance to cement a spot in the four.
The Daylesford team of Maralyn Trevorrow, Paul Kelly, Dot Bull and skipper Lois Voterakis stamped their dominance over the opposition to win their rink 30 shots to 14.
Jo Best’s team of Anne Bremner, Lorraine Nicholls and Ron Bull had a nine-shot win while Donna Robinson’s rink went down by 11.
The Central Wendouree Blue side had more luck for the Gregory Street club, defeating Creswick 72 shots to 63.
Avenue comfortably disposed of seventh-ranked Webbcona 83 shots to 55 at home, locking in its finals berth.
Meanwhile, home-side Smeaton took a seven-shot win from Learmonth.
