THE Ballarat Regional Bowls Association has scheduled a double-header of men's pennant finals this weekend.
Wild weather had the final say in a number of preliminary finals on Saturday, forcing the abandonment of division one, two, four and eight matches.
These clashes will be continued from where they left off, at the same venues, on Saturday, before grand finals are played the following day.
The Ballarat-Geelong premier grand final will go ahead as scheduled on Sunday, while divisions three, five, six and seven will all play deciders on Saturday.
BRBA match committee chairman Dave Alsop said grand finals needed to be decided before group pennant clashes were played on the final weekend of March.
"Some clubs will be happy and some will be unhappy. I'm not particularly happy that we have a mix of preliminary finals and grand finals on the same day, but we can't do anything else," he said.
"We need to get the games out of the way as soon as possible so we don't get them banked up for the following weekend."
Alsop said playing a Saturday-Sunday double-header would allow the association to keep a weekend free in case of further rain interruptions.
"I don't want any games to be outstanding after next weekend, if possible," Alsop said.
