FROM the opening bounce on Saturday, it was all about Lee Cox.
Starting a sunny afternoon at Hepburn on 94 goals in 2010, the Burras spearhead took until 10 minutes before half-time to register his second century with the Central Highlands Football League club.
He booted four goals in the first term to close within two of his ton, and with a cheap free kick, slotted another early in the second quarter.
Then, getting his 100th became a sideshow to the main event.
Cox marked on the lead about 30 metres from goal, and with a sense of expectation among the Hepburn crowd, the 26-year-old quickly fired off a handball to a teammate running past.
Shortly after, he tried an audacious snap from deep in the pocket only for it to take the turn of a leg-spinner in the goal-square and miss.
But when a perfect pass hit the number 43 on the lead, everyone knew this was it.
So did Cox, who walked back to the top of his mark with a cheeky grin before neatly check-siding his 100th major of the season.
A stream of players and supporters poured onto the ground, with Hepburn youngsters greeting Cox and releasing blue and red balloons into the sky.
But the show didn't end there.
Cox added another four goals to finish the day with 10, sinking a hapless Towners outfit by 117-points in a one-sided top-of-the-table clash.
After having the last kick of the match - a behind - Cox was carried from the ground on teammates' shoulders before the Burras circled him in the rooms and sung the Hepburn song.
With three rounds remaining, the possibility of eclipsing Dunnstown forward Ian McBain's home and away record of 122 goals from 1982 is not out of the question.
